To Know Christ & to make Him Known
As the Administration/Stewardship Committee our role is to support the pastor, the staff and the members of the church to greater fulfill our mission “to know Christ and to make him known.” Our commitment is to provide the pastor and the staff with the resources, guidance, and support they need to fulfill their duties to the church and to the congregation. We are also committed to being fiscally responsible in the planning, preparation and execution of an annual operating budget.
The Evangelism/Outreach Committee continues with a strong commitment to the food bank and Good Samaritan Program. We ask for your continuing support by bringing food to the church for the bank. Our commitment also remains strong to the following outreach programs:
- Ruskin Elementary School
- Rebuilding Waycross
- TV Ministry
- Okefenokee Ministerial Fellowship
- Thursday Morning Men’s Breakfast
- Gutsy Grannies Exercise Group
- Redemption Group
- Community Thanksgiving Meal
- Magnolia House
- Fall Festival
It is the goal of the property committee to assure that the congregation, staff, and visitors of First Presbyterian Church Waycross are provided with a safe, comfortable, and attractive physical environment. With the help and support from our entire church family, and by showing care and respect for the property, all in our church family will have a warm and inviting facility in which to worship Christ together.
The vision of the Public Information Committee is to provide outreach in the community not only through the broadcast of Sunday morning services on TV but also an informative webpage, a Facebook page, and print media which will highlight our love of God.
The Christian Education Committee will continue to offer opportunities for Christian education throughout the week and of course on Sunday mornings with Sunday School available for all ages. As a result of attending Sunday School, Bible Study, and VBS we hope participants will grow in Biblical knowledge and will be equipped to go forth as light and salt in our world, looking for ways to serve others through our everyday work.
The Fellowship Committee strives to enhance the personal connections within our whole congregational family by coordinating times of shared meals in the following ways:
- Wednesday Night Suppers
- Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans celebration
- Robert Odum Fish Fry
- Fourth of July celebration
- Ice Cream Social
- Covered dish luncheons throughout the year
